Rita Ora

Ora is a British singer-songwriter, actress and songwriter. When she appeared
on DJ Fresh's hit single "Hot Right Now" and her fame soared to the
top of the charts in February 2012. Ora her debut album was released in the
month of August 2012. It was ranked number one within the United Kingdom. It
included two UK number one singles "R.I.P." "How We Do
(Party)," and "R.I.P." Ora was the artist with the most
top-ranked singles on the UK Singles Chart 2012, with three singles hitting #1.
Ora's second studio album Phoenix which was released in November 2018. The top
ten British hit single "Your Song" as well as the follow-up singles
"Anywhere" (and "Let You Love Me") reached the top five.
Ora was the first British solo female artist to break into the top 10 in the
United Kingdom with "Let You Love Me". Ora was born to Albanian
parents and was born in Pristina (present-day Kosovo) in SFR Yugoslavia
(present day Kosovo). Her mother, Vera (nee Bajraktari), is a psychiatrist and her
father, Besnik Sahatciu, is a proprietor of a pub. He has previously completed
a degree in economics. Ora has a younger brother named Don, and an older
sister, Elena. Rita Sahatciu was her name at the time she was born. Her surname
is derived from the Turkish word saatci which means "watchmaker"
however, her parents added Ora (which in Albanian is "time") to her
family surname. The family of her parents left Kosovo for political reasons,
because of the persecution of Albanians initiated by the disintegration of
Yugoslavia.They relocated to London, England in 1991 as young. She grew up in
Notting Hill in West London. She attended the school of performing arts, Sylvia
Young Theatre School.
